The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has withdrawn from the race.
He announced his intention to stand down on Friday while addressing reporters.
“Even though, I had the desire to re-contest as National Chairman of the Party, I have decided that it is ultimately in the best interest of the Party for me to withdraw from the race, ” Oyegun told reporters at his residence in Abuja.
There is high wire politics currently going on in APC where Oyegun may be embarrassed if he decides to go ahead to re-contest the position against the choice candidate of President Muhammadu Buharim which is former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomwhole.
Regardless, many of Oyegun’s National Working Committee (NWC) members are getting the nod of their zones to re-contest.
