The Imo State Chairman of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) Chibuike Oziri Nwachukwu, has described the former governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili as a rare Nigerian who many look up to for direction on good governance.

The ANRP chieftain gave the assessment of Odili as part of his good will message to the medical doctor turned politician who is celebrating his 70 years.

As encomiums poured in from many well meaning Nigerians in honour of Odili, Nwachukwu also described him as an astute leader and a man of many parts whose footprints on the sand of history will remain evergreen.

“Odili remains an epitome of excellence, a staunch advocate of good governance which he displayed when he was Rivers State Governor,” the ANRP chieftain maintained even as he described Odili as a “de-tribalised Nigerian, a trail blazer, an uncommon transformer who effectively navigated the ship of governance of the State for the benefit of the people when he was Governor of Rivers State.”

Nwachukwu’s words: “You remain a hero, a fountain of hope, a pillar of support whose undying commitment to the good of the nation cannot be quantified.

“As you celebrate seventy years on this planet, you remain a rare gem, a fountain of hope to our generation and a priceless jewel not only to the people of Rivers State but to the nation at large.

“We will follow your footsteps as we remain guided by your words of wisdom which will remain indelible in our hearts.”
