Highest Igbo socio- cultural organisation has kicked against the classification of the Independent People of Biafra as a terror group, saying the International law on what qualifies groups as terror groups is obvious.
Rising from the Imeobi meeting at Nike Resort Centre in Enugu on Saturday, Ohanaeze also applauded the South East governors for taking steps to douse the recent clash between IPOB and the military.
A nine point communique issued at ghe end of the meeting reiterated their support gor the restructuring of the country in line with the ongoing clamour by Nigerians.
According to Ohanaeze, the resurgence of separatists groups like IPOB was as a result of imbalance in the treatment of stakeholders in the country.
The group regretted that the Igbo have continued to be marginalised by the government and advised that the anomaly be rectified.
The meeting was attended by key Igbo leaders including governors and members of the National Assembly of Igbo extraction.
