After insulting the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) led by John Odigie-Oyegun as being responsible for what ordeal befell him in Imo State with the ward and local government congresses, Governor Rochas Okorocha has asked his supporters to go and beg Oyegun.
Among the federal lawmakers  Okorocha sent to Oyegun were Nnanna Igbokwe and Chike Okafor, as well as the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Acho Ihim, among others.
The Imo-born APC legislators were therefore at the headquarters of the party in Abuja where they met with the APC leadership to solicit understanding with them on their complaints and predicaments.
Following the deadly blow the deputy Governor’s faction dealt with Okorocha and his camp, the governor took on Oyegun accusing him of responsibility for the fate that befell him during the ward congress.
Okorocha said Oyegun was against him  because he refused to support him tenure elongation plan.

But the NWC, through a statement from the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Bolaji Abdullahi, told the governor to go and manage properly his relationship with his party members.

“All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has told the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, not to transfer mismanagement of his relationship with his people on the party’s national leadership.

“With due respect, Governor Okorocha is being malicious and unfair to the NWC. If he has mismanaged his relationship with his own people, in a way that they now constitute an encumbrance to him, he should not transfer his frustration to the NWC.

“It is certainly not right to set fire to the village because you want to kill a rat.

“If Governor Okorocha has any specific grievances, he should come forward with them rather than making this generalised accusations,” Abdullahi said.
