The Orlu Political Consultative Assembly (OPOCA) has condemned the reckless and baseless report credited to a faceless group,  called Orlu Gong/Orlu Peoples Assembly (OPA), linking Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and the Government of Imo State to the recent arrest of Uche Nwosu, son – in law of Rochas Okorocha by the Nigerian Police Force.
The OPOCA, in a statement signed by its National President, Chief (Barr) Rex C. Anunobi (Sokom) said is absurd for anyone to link the recent arrest and interrogation of Nwosu by the Nigerian Police to the governor or the Government of Imo State even when the authorities involved and in the instant case, the Nigerian Police, have justifiably assumed full responsibility of the action.
Below is full text of the statement:

RE: UZODIMMA’S KINSMEN CONDENM ARREST OF UCHE NWOSU, LAMPOONS GOVERNOR FOR DESCRATION OF CHURCH.

The attention of Orlu Political Consultative Assembly (OPOCA) has been drawn to a reckless and baseless report credited to a faceless group operated by one Fidel Anujuo which calls itself Orlu Gong/Orlu Peoples Assembly (OPA) wherein it failed upon surreptious and futile attempt to maliciously link His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Government of Imo State to the arrest of Uche Nwosu by the Nigerian Police Force.

OPOCA frowns at this hypocritical posture of this inconsequential fellow and his faceless group on Gov. Uzodimma’s all-round but concerted efforts towards bringing to an end blood-letting, kidnapping all forms of criminality arising from sponsored insecurity and banditry in Imo State.

It is an absurdity for anyone to link the recent arrest and interrogation of Nwosu by the Nigerian Police to the Governor or the Government of Imo State even when the authorities involved and in the instant case, the Nigerian Police, have justifiably assumed full responsibility of the action.

Suffice it to say that Nwosu is not and can never rise above the law. It is utterly disgusting just to say the least that his arrest and interrogation by the Nigerian Police is subjectively misinterpreted by those who are shocked and unhappy that Gov. Uzodimma in conjunction with security agencies are unrelented and successful in the fight against insecurity, kidnapping and banditry in our dear State.

Given the above, OPOCA is therefore compelled to serve a warning notice to all  those sponsoring insecurity and killings in Imo State as well as their emergency sympathizers to desist henceforth and allow the  security agencies to perform their functions. How they strategise and execute these functions aimed at stopping these politically sponsored insecurity and banditry by sworn enemies of the State and 3-R administration of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma is solely at the juridiction and boundaries of their discretion and constitutional powers. It is rather unfortunate that some people have suddenly forgotten how the past administration of Anayo Rochas Okorocha under guise of granting amnesty to some criminals in the State raised a gang of ‘monsters’ which he violently recruited to destroy Eke Owerre market and unleashed on some opposition politicans who opposed his failed plan to impose his son-in-law as governor. What about his open threat to make Imo ungovernable after boasting openly to be richer than the State?

OPOCA going forward hereby warn against playing politics with the fight against insecurity by the Government and security agencies. The era of ‘notice me’ by political jobbers and spent forces using amorphous online platforms apparently to reinvent themselves is gone and no longer fashionable in Imo. We rather enjoin such charlatans to join any political party of their choice to test their overbloated ego.

Lastly, OPOCA wishes to commend Gov. Hope Uzodimma for his generosity to Imo workers and pensioners during this yuletide season especially the approval and instant payment of 13th month to Imo workers which no doubt remains the first of its kind in the State. Our Governor equally deserves commendations for not succumbing to distractions and shenanigans of the sworn enemies of good governance and Ndi Imo by sustaining all developmental and massive road projects that spread across the three senatorial zones of the State. Imo is indeed in the hand of God.

Long Live OPOCA!
Long Live Dist. Senator Hope Uzodimma!!!
Long Live Imo State!!!
Signed:
Chief (Barr) Rex C. Anunobi (Sokom)
National President
OPOCA
