Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has said that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi are plotting secretly to destroy his political career because of his presidential ambition.
He said all the controversy trailing the APC in Imo State and who succeeds him is not about the person he wants to succeed him but about his interest in the presidency come 2023.
He said the duo want to alienate him from politics and halt his 2023 presidential ambition by all means.
Okorocha spoke at Government House, Owerri on Tuesday, saying the ambition of his son in-law, Uche Nwosu is secondary to the bigger plot.
He said: “The calculation is that if Uche Nwosu becomes governor and I go to Senate, I will be a strong force by 2023. The most annoying fact is that they are using our people to pursue that agenda.”
Okorocha described the feud in the ruling APC as a “war in a different dimension.”
“There is more to the noise you are hearing about the governorship election in Imo, it is not about Uche Nwosu, it is about a plot to stop Okorocha by all means, otherwise why will Adams Oshiomhole and Rotimi Amaechi be interested in who governs Imo?”
