National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Adams Oshiomhole on Monday met with senators elected on the platform of the ruling APC with feelers saying tbe agenda was the Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Oshiomhole has repeatedly said his party will not tolerate Saraki as senate leaders following his recent defections to the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
Attempts have been made openly and in secret to get Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu out of the way and have them replaced with APC senators.
There was an unsuccessful attempt last week to kick Saraki out but the effort was bungled and even caused the former director general of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura his job.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had fired Daura following reports his men invaded the NASS to bar senators from entering the NASS Complex.
The DSS was said to have acted without directives from the presidency.
The PDP senators had accused Oshiomhole and the APC of master- minding the invasion in their desperation to impeach Saraki.
The Monday meeting with the APC senators was believed to be part of the desperate moves go impeach Saraki and change the senate leadership by force.
