The Olowo of Owo in Ondo State, Oba Folagbade Olateru Olagbegi is dead.
Aged 77 , Olagbegi joined his forefathers on Tuesday night after reigning for 16 years on the throne of Owo kingdom.
He was installed as the paramount ruler of the ancient town in 2003 by the late Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Agagu.
In 2005, Olagbegi was appointed Chancellor of the University of Benin and later that of University of Abuja.
The former chairman of the Ondo Council of Obas was the Chancellor of the University of Jos before he died.
