Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court, Lagos on Monday ordered the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, to finally forfeiture N10 billion illegally acquired as First Lady to the Federal Government.
Olatoregun directed that the funds should be forfeited to the Federal Government on the grounds that they were proceeds of illegal activities.
She ruled that Patience and those involved could not legitimately account for the ownership of the funds.
The money included N7.4 billion and $8.4 million traced to the former First Lady’s account after she failed to convince the court on how she came about it.
