Embattled former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) , Ali Modu Sherrif may be pushed out of the party eventually if what key party men are cooking is anything to go by.
Armadanews.com has gathered from those who ought to know what is to come in future that they no longer regard Sherrif who was a two term governor of troubled Borno State as part of the part.
Indications to the bigger plot to push Sherrif out of the PDP emerged last week when he stayed away from the non elective convention held in Abuja with his supporters.
His key supporters complained they were not carried along by the Ahmed Markafi-led committee with regard to the composition of membership of the non elective convention committees.
Their argument was that Markafi is not magnanimous in victory.
A chieftain of the PDP who was once governor of Sokoto State told this platform that “Sherrif is a disaster”and that ” the party was not prepared to tolerate people like him because there is no more time left to mend the damage he caused us.”
However, the PDP chieftain said the supporters of Sherrif may not be sent away if the reconciliation committee set up to consider the role some of them played deemed them loyal party men and women.
“Those of them who are sympathetic of what they did and geniunely feel remorse have the opportunity of being reintegrated but the ones unrepentant and out to cause problems we will not stomach,” the chieftain said.
After the non elective national convention, the Markafi-led caretaker committee tenure was extended to December this year when a proper election into all the offices of the PDP National Working Committee ( NWC) would be held.
Meanwhile, underground plot to get the person who would eventually take over from Markafi-led committee is already ongoing due to the insistent on zoning the presidency to the north for 2019.
