Amaju Melvin Pinnick, CAF’s first vice-president, has been re-elected President of the Nigeria Football Federation.
He polled 34 of the 44 votes cast to emerge winner on Thursday.
His opponents – Aminu Maigari got 8 votes, Taiwo Ogunjobi 2 votes and Chinedu Okoye, no vote.
The election was held in Katsina.
Pinnick said afterwards: “We have proven that with our national teams the NFF has a very marketable brand, largely thanks to the sheer size of our fan base and international appeal, so it is possible to achieve this financial independence.”
His opponents promptly congratulate him.
