Hours after Senate President Bukola Saraki directed his ADC to proceed to the police headquarters to get details of the invitation to him on the Offa Kwara State robbery incident, the police have cancelled the arrangement.
Saraki will no longer need to appear before the police for questioning, but can stay in his office and react to queries.
Also on Monday, in another Twitter post, Saraki said he now has a formal communication from he police, which was not for him to appear but rather to answer questions bordering on the robbery in Offa, Kwara State, in April.
“Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do,” Saraki said.
The new arrangement came minutes after vice president Yemi Osinbajo had a closed door meeting with Ibrahim Idirs and the Director General of the State Security Services, Lawal Daura.
