Barring any last minute observations, former Senate President and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ken Nnamani may be named the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Nnamani if appointed replaces David Lawal Babachir who was dropped suddenly over fraudulent practices involving the Internally displaced Persons funds. Babachir is currently being probed.
Armadanews.com learnt that Nnamani who joined the APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is already under going security profiling, and could be unveiled any moment from now if President Muhammadu Buhari gives the final consent.
Also, former governor of Ebonyi state, Marthin Elechi is being profiled for the position of Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Development Board. Elechi also recently dumped the PDP for the APC.
Sources said their proposed appointment is part of the efforts of the APC-led government to win the support of the South East zone ahead of the 2019 election.
The South East zone has complained of being left out in the key appointments made by Buhari.
