Residents of Abonema local government area in Rivers state are fleeing the place in their hundreds over the killing of soldiers on duty in the place.
The incident took place Saturday night and the residents are afraid of a reprisal attack from soldiers.
The dead soldiers were on duty in the place because of the insurity that charactrrsied last presidential and national assembly elections in River state.
The military authorities want their men to stay there till after the governorship and state assembly elections.
But it waa said that some gunmen wearing security uniform stormed the place and taking the soldiers by surprise gunned down two of them.
The news spread in the locality amd immediately caused apprehension.
The residents fearing that the military hierarchy which has kept mute over the incident may take the community umawares and attack them.
