Dare-devil armed robbers on Thursday attacked a branch of Union Bank Plc in Ode-Irele town in Ondo State and carted away an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables.
Police sources told ArmadaNews that the bandits numbering about 25 invaded the bank after destroying the security doors with an explosive device.
Some yet-to-be identified persons reportedly sustained bullet injuries as the gang fired some gunshots to scare away those in the banking hall before carrying out their operation.
The police said no fatality was recorded in the attack but vowed to spread their dragnet across the state and beyond with a view to apprehending the fleeing robbers.
Sources said the rampaging robbers had earlier attacked a police station in the area before robbing bank.
It was gathered that the bandits, armed with the weapons they carted away from the police station, the robbers proceeded to rob the bank.
The robbers also reportedly blew open the police armoury with an explosive device and made away with huge some riffles.
