Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has offered reasons why Victor Moses was omitted from the list of players to represent Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10.
Rohr named seven forwards in the list made public on Wednesday, May 31 and Moses was noticeably omitted in the squad.
The German trainer is now offering explanations why the Chelsea sensational winger was left out of the squad that would face the Bafana Bafana in Uyo in 10 days time.
Super Eagles spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye said from France that: “Coach (Rohr) has just picked those he believes will get the job done for him given the number of days they have spent together.
“He has called up new players only in the areas where he thinks the team needs reinforcement.
“Apart from that, Moses will be having surgery on his injured toe this summer and that effectively rules him out of the game against Bafana Bafana.”
