Saraki, Dogara Receive Buhari’s Resumption Letter

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has confirmed receipt of President Muhammadu Buhari’s resumption letter to the National Assembly.
Saraki made this known via his twitter handle on Monday, August 21.
He said, “I have received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the Senate that he has returned to the country.
“I have also acknowledged the letter.”
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina said on Monday that Buhari had transmitted his letter of resumption to the senate despite the vacation by senators.
Adesina also said his principal was resuming immediately.
Buhari’s resumption letter will be read in plenary when the National Assembly resumes from its recess on September 19.
Buhari had written to the National Assembly informing it of his medical vacation to London, on May 7.
He had transmitted power to his deputy, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in acting capacity while he was away.
Buhari returned to Nigeria on Saturday, August 19.
Also, on Monday, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, acknowledged receipt of the communication from Buhari notifying the House of Representatives of his resumption to duty.
The letter was delivered to the office of the speaker by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Suleiman Sumaila.
