Chief of Staff to Senate President Bukola Saraki, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC)
He did on Monday, July 2, but did not give reasons.
However, Ahmed was reported to have said that his decision do dump the APC had nothing to do with the Senate President.
Premium Times reports that he said he described his decision to leave APC as a difficult one.
He said he took the decision after due consultation with members of his Akida faction of APC in Kaduna. The Akida faction also has a senator, Shehu Sani, as member.
Sani has also threatened to leave the APC.
Baba-Ahmed, a retired cerebral civil servant has been one of the key voices in Kaduna, and one of those who made it possible for Governor Nasir El-Rufai and President Muhammadu Buhari to win the state in 2015.
