The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has called on the military not to allow themselves be called out again for an illegal duties.

Secondus said that at the rerun election this Saturday, the military and other security agencies should resist any attempt to be dragged into election manipulations.

The National Chairman said that military institution in Nigeria is highly regarded and it’s their responsibility to guide their names jealously and prevent.

According to a statement from his media office, the National Chairman, said that the inconclusive terminology is a rigging strategy introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission to aide the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said that PDP is certain to get victory in the rerun in at least five of the six states as he warned the inec and the security agencies to stay clear.

Secondus reminded the INEC Chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu that he will be personally held responsible for the consequence s of all his actions.

The Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi in his own remarks feels that while INEC and security agencies should be knocked for their actions, and that more shame should go to the persons who are directing them.

Obi said that the worst form of corruption is election rigging because the process of coming into power is far more important that what is done thereafter.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker House Representatives Yakubu  Dogora, all urged members of the party to remain steadfast and not despair as their victory must be restored at the court.

Meanwhile, Saraki who is Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s “purported victory” in the February 23 presidential election would be short-lived.

Speaking at the opening session of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, Saraki said the PDP must defeat Buhari at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

“First of all, the true reflection of the presidential election showed the kind of character that the PDP has. I think that is something that we should build on.

“My own appeal to everybody is to say this victory that the other party has seen is going to be short-lived. We have a great future ahead and I believe we will start that on Saturday, to make sure that we defend those five states that are declared inconclusive.

“If anybody believes that it is a loss to PDP, it is a loss to the country that history will not forgive. We said it many times here, that the worst to do is to do an election that as a country Nigeria will not be proud of.

“We have done an election that no doubt anybody and even those that think they have won are ashamed of the kind of election that we did.

“I think it is a shame to the country and to those that were given that responsibility to do.

“We are setting a bad example, not only in Nigeria, but in the continent when we bring militarisation into our election,” Saraki said.
