Ahmed Lawan, Nigeria’s Senate President has said that work on the 2020 appropriation presented to the National Assembly on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari would be completed this month.
Lawan took to his twitter handle to assure that committees of both chambers of the National Assembly will conclude work on the 2020 budget proposal before the end of October.
To that effect, Lawan therefore directed all Ministers and Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to appear before National Assembly committees to defend their budget promptly before the end of the month.
He assured that the lawmakers would bring to bear the same commitment with which they passed the Medium Term Expenditure Frame work, which is a prelude to the budget.
