Crashed NAF Aircraft was Searching for Abducted Kagara Students- Sources

It has emerged that the military aircraft that crashed near the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja on Sunday, was searching for the abducted Kagara Students.

Seven persons, including the crewmembers were confirmed dead in the crash involving the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft.

NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola stated that the Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna.

Daramola further stated that all seven personnel on board died in the crash.

According to him, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao has ordered an immediate investigation into the accident, while sending his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

“The CAS, on behalf of all Nigerian Air Force personnel, commiserated with the families of the deceased”, he said.
