Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
He did on Wednesday in Sokoto with the full backing of his supporters.
Tmbuwal, former Speaker of the House of Representatives was a member of the PDP until 2014 when he left the party, citing high handedness and impunity on the part of the leadership then.
Tambuwal had defected to the now ruling All Progressive Congress with a retinue of members and some governors elected on the platform of the then ruling PDP.
On Wednesday Tambuwal told the crowd of supporters that the APC has failed to live up to its promise bith in the areas if security, economy, good governance among others.
He announced his defection to the PDP and was immediately decorated with the party’s muffler by the leaders of the PDP in Sokoto.
