Sokoto People Beg Jonathan To Come Back As He Visits Sultanate Over Dasuki’s Death

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, November 17 went to Sokoto State to commiserate with the people and government over the recent death of the former Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki who died on Monday, November 14.

Dasuki was buried on Tuesday, November 15 in line with Islamic injunctions.

During the visit, Jonathan was greeted with a rousing welcome by the people some of who even displayed placards begging him to come back as president. One of the placards read: “Come Back Baba Jonathan.”

The former president was on the trip with the former governor of Sokoto, Attahiru Bafarawa and other prominent persons.

The detained former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki who is facing trial over money laundering and mis management of arms funds during Jonathan’s administration is the son of the late Sultan.
