Suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, has been found guilty of false declaration of assets by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Consequently, Onnoghen has also been barred from holding public office for 10 years by the Tribunal.
Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Tribunal leading three-man panel ruled on Thursday that the former CJN breached the provision of CCT Act section 36; and that Onnoghen falsely declared his asset by hiding five accounts listed in the charge.
The Tribunal also sacked Onnoghen who had recently announced his resignation as CJN.
The Tribunal also ruled that Onnoghen is to forfeit the money in the said accounts.
