Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the September 2018 Osun State governorship election has been declared winner of the poll by the tribunal.
The election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja said on Friday upheld the petitions filed by Adeleke against the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Gboyega Oyetola who was declared winner.
The three-man tribunal said Adeleke’s petition has merit.
Adeleke was leading in the governorship election before it was declared inconclusive and a rerun held that saw Oyetola being declared winner.
Adeleke protested the result and headed for the tribunal.
There is celebration already in Osun over the tribunal’s decision particularly in the Adelekes home.
