One person believed to be a truck driver allegedly died on Thursday as his members and the presidential task-force team clashed at the Lily-pond, Ijora, Lagos.
Vehicles belonging to the police and the Nigerian Ports Authority were also torched as hoodlums took advantage of the clash to wreak havoc at the gate of Lily-pond.
An eyewitness reported that Lily-pond suffered some measure of damage as the hoodlums attempted to set the place ablaze.
Sources said the truck drivers were resisting alleged extortion leveled against the presidential task force team.
The deceased was one of those who resisted the extortion attempt. But the cause of his death could not immediately be ascertained.
He reportedly died inside the Lily-pond terminal.
The NPA vehicle was set ablaze when some hoodlums refused to be allowed by security agents to obstruct business transactions in the area and the right of way by law abiding citizens.
