Victor Umeh
Umeh is going ahead with the campaign despite a court ruling on Wednesday, ordering the return of People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Obiora Okonkwo as Senator representing Anambra Central District.
The APGA chieftain, a former National Chairman of the party  who is at the centre of the nullification of the election purportedly won by Uche Ekwunife of the PDP has said the court ruling is a joke.

Justice John Tsoho of an Abuja High Court ordered the immediate return of Okonkwo as the senator representing the Anambra Central Senatorial District.

Tsoho gave the ruling on Wednesday on the grounds that counsel to other parties in the matter, mainly PDP members withdrew their arguments against Okonkwo.

The judge said he was inclined to grant the request sort by the plaintiff because all the defendants indicated they had no objection to the suit.

The defendants in the Okonkwo’s case are the PDP; its former chairman, Adamu Muazu; INEC; and Uche Ekwunife, a former senator and former member of the PDP.                                                                                                                                                                                                     On Wednesday, Umeh described the ruling as a joke and madness of the highest order.
He said all the cases relating to the Anambra Central District had been decided by the Appeal Court which ordered fresh election within 90 days.

Ume added that a lower court lacks the locus  to decide against the decision of a court of superior jurisdiction on matters of election, particularly with regard to cases that had progressed to the Appeal court from the lower court.
On his flag off his reelection campaign on Thursday, Umeh said all arrangements are in place, and that the people of the Anambra Central Senatorial district are in high spirit to elect a person of their choice at the senate.
