Governor Hope Uzodimma has called on Imo State electorate to turn out en mass on Saturday, September 21, to cast their ballot for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, describing them as products of a transparent primary.
The APC in Imo State is fielding 27 Chairmanship and 305 Ward Councillorship candidates for the Saturday poll, who will man the government at the grassroots, when elected.
Governor Uzodimma did not only congratulate the candidates for emerging victorious in the keenly contested APC primary, but urged all Party faithful to turn out in their numbers to re-enact the 27/27 victory saga during the November 11, 2023 governorship in the Council poll.
“You must re-enact the 27/27 experience during the governorship election last year as you approach the voting centres in your locality to elect the Chairmen and Councillors this Saturday,” Governor Uzodimma told the electorate.
The Governor also commended officials of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) for their commitment to a free, fair and transparent process, and urged the APC candidates to key into the ISIEC dream.
He reminded the APC candidates that they already have the advantage of a government that has done verifiable things in all the nooks and crannies of Imo State as campaign tool, and should be bold and confident enough to canvass for votes from the electorate.
“The election is for you to go and win, and massively too. So, you go and win and make your people proud,” he charged the candidates, and assured the electorate of adequate security before, during and after the exercise.
