Amid report that some contractors handling some roads in Imo State have abandoned such projects, Governor Hope Uzodinma has warned that such contracts stand being determined if the contractors fail to go back to site within 72 hours.
Uzodinma said he had observed with dismay that some contractors have abandoned their road construction sites for sometime now.
He said the action was “unjustifiable and totally unacceptable to the state government.”
The governor noted that the contractors have no reason to do so when the dry season when road construction is always at its peak, and more so, when they have collected mobilisation from the government.
Governor Uzodinma therefore directed that they return to the sites or have their contracts determined, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku.
