Accreditation and voting are going on simultaneously in Osun state in the governorship election.

Police deployed 28,000 men to complement the efforts of other security agencies like the Civil Defence Corps.

The voter turn out is massive and the exercise going on smoothly with security operatives keeping keen eye at the polling booths.

Forty eight candidates from different political parties  are jostling to be elected governor at the end of the day.

Election monitors and civil society organisations are also in considerable number in the state to ensure a level playing field for all.

The Independent National Electoral commission had promised a free, fair and credible exercise in the build-up to the election.

Previously held recent electioms were characterised by voter buyimg, but the INEC and the police have pledged to deal with those found to be unducing voters with money while the election is in progress.

At the time of filling this report there were no records of ugly incidences.

While INEC adhoc staff were at the polling booths early enough, the voters were reported being orderly.
