The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike has been removed with immediate effect.

His removal is connected to the recent ward Congress election in Imo where one of the electoral officers was said to have gone missing without the police tracing him.

Ezike, believed to be in the good books of Governor Rochas Okorocha was said to have insisted on not siding the Governor and his associates to compromise the exercise.

Okorocha was said to have told President Muhammadu Buhari that the security operatives, particularly the police did not do a good job and requested that Ezike be removed from the state.

Buhari directed the Inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris to remove Ezike immediately.

Ezike is being replaced by one AN Danlachi.
