The President General of the apex Igbo socio cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide , Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has praised Governor Alex Otti of Abia State over his sterling performance in office, describing his achievements in office as legendary.
Chief Iwuanyanwu stated this when he and some executive members of the organization paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at his Nvosi country home.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo President General congratulated the Governor saying Igbos were proud of him and his achievements so far.
He said that his visit was to give a comprehensive report of Ohaneze to the Governor, adding that he received excellent report of the performance of Governor Otti from their field officers.
“I have field officers who report to me, they have given to me very excellent report on the performance of Abia State Governor, His Excellency Alex Otti. I have also confirmed all the information I received.
Infact, he is classified “A” in our classification. I have come here today, I have discussed with him and I have confirmed that everything reported to me about his efforts, his achievements since he was sworn in on 29th of May, 2023 is true. All I can say here on behalf of Igbos all over the world as their leader is congratulations”
Chief Iwuanyanwu disclosed that Igbo land is blessed with abundant natural resources including limestone, uranium, coal, oil among others and urged Ndigbo to tap into the unharnessed natural resources found in the region for economic development.
He stated that there was need to change the misconception about Ndigbo by non Igbos, emphasising that it could only be done by Ndigbo telling their own story rather than allowing others tell an incomplete story of them.
Receiving the delegation, Governor Alex Otti thanked Chief Iwuanyanwu for the endorsement, revealing that he came to office prepared because he understood the problems of the people. He disclosed that one of the challenges of the people is access roads and informed that he has started tackling it.
Governor Otti used the opportunity to reveal that he has approved that an assessment of the International Glass Industry, Aba and other moribund industries be done to enable his government take decision on whether to retrofit them or build new ones, adding that Abia has many mineral resources that would be harnessed.
Governor Otti, who pledged to give Ohaneze Ndigbo all the support, expressed gratitude to Chief Iwuanyanwu for accepting to serve Ndigbo, describing Igbo as industrious, business-like and lovers of education.
The Abia born Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Okey Emeuche was among the delegation to the Governor.
